The amazing physical acting and seamless character work really tied the whole piece together. I was able to follow easily and understand everything. Brandon bounces easily from sincere and authentic to outlandish and crazy, depending on whatever character he is playing.
Most of all, I loved how truthful and vulnerable it was. The much as I loved the humour and the jokes, what really got me in the end was how real it all was—this journey of self-discovery and self-love, of trying to find where he belonged, the real pain and confusion it involved, and also how there isn’t one answer in the end.
What I didn't like
The only thing I have would be that I wish grandma sat in a different chair/location from great-grandfather, if only to differentiate them a little more, since they both have a more quiet atmosphere to them, if that makes sense.
My overall impression
I Can’t Indian Good brings the audience on a heartfelt and hilarious inter-galactic romp through space and time, and is at once beautifully written and wonderfully performed. Somehow, it speaks to the most deep-seated feelings we all have about not belonging AND puts you into complete stitches at every turn. Absolutely loved it and highly recommend!!
