There is a ’Prairie Home Companion" quality about the show that feels almost folksy and comfortable. The humor, however, is very clever and fun… and never nasty. You really walk away feeling uplifted by a sense of having been enlightened by a wise and whimsical host… and likewise wholly entertained.
What I didn't like
I think the show sets out to do exactly what it intends. A flight of comedy is a little taste here and a little taste there. That said, there are technical cues and projections… not that it disrupted anything or dampened the entertainment… that can always be tightened up when segueing from one bit to the next. But that’s not really a critique. The show was wholly enjoyable.
My overall impression
Andy’s show reminds me of being told stories by a wily uncle. At first seemingly genteel and warm, then … a wild zinger! Letting you know Uncle Andy is really just a rascal. A delightful show with many chuckles. Really feels like being told stories by the campfire.
