What I liked
I enjoyed the various familiar figures of legends told through a queer embodiment with empathy. I really enjoyed the monologue told from a first person experience, a 90s David having an epiphany of worth that provided me with a real emotional connection. I loved how David weaved in some explanations and personal observations of the prior monologues and it increased the value of the experience to me.
What I didn't like
I wouldn’t improve on anything because it was a fully realized performance.
My overall impression
David LeBarron has done it again with another layered and transformational performance. These monologues brought me more in touch with legendary characters that I didn’t realize were so integral to the queer experience, especially from the one sided way their stories have been told by greater society. David’s excellent work embodies the struggles that queer people have faced throughout all of history and his ability to connect me as a viewer to the material is impeccable.
