About the Project

A workshop for:
• Non-performers who want to strengthen their public speaking skills and their confidence when moving through the world
• New performers in the first few years of their artistic practice
… who don’t live life as a straight, white cisgender male.

Why do some folk seem so confident, so fearless with failure? Is it just easier on them, or do they have a secret? Yes to both.
Using elements of clowning, impro, non-comedic storytelling, burlesque and stand-up comedy, this workshop will help you shake off inhibitions and limitations, while developing tools from a range of disciplines that will add to your own practice.
• Get more comfortable on stage and speaking to a crowd
• Kick the traditional blocks, nerves and inhibitions that are rife in the first few years of a performance career
• Begin to explore performance elements outside of your discipline
• Strengthen your emerging network and get new connections
• Discover support for diverse voices in the arts
• Enjoy a safer space to try new things.
Very limited spots; pre-bookings essential.
Limited ‘no one turned away for lack of funds’ and scholarship places available. Contact Lisa for details.

A non-binary Aussie Queerdo and everyone’s Festival Dad, Lisa-Skye is a beloved presence in the international live arts scene, having spent the last decade touring Europe, the UK and all around his home country of Australia. Known for his inclusive style and glitterbomb controlled chaos, you’re guaranteed to have a lovely time, unless you’re a dickhead. They HATE this Sparklepuppy.
