The structure was invisible and really smart. They had the audience from the jump. It was an improv show that didn’t feel like an improv show. Nothing forced, and the performers played together so nimbly that I was reluctant to leave when the show was over. The mark of a good show is that you fall in love a little bit with the performer: I was a little bit in love with these two.
What I didn't like
Keep the audience on a leash if they look like they are going to start trying to match. That’s a minor note. I loved this show.
My overall impression
Whipped-cream light with a dark core. The conceit is two children having imaginary playtime with whatever they coax out of the audience. The vibe is Pee Wee’s Playhouse but less chaotic, more grounded in the imaginations of two children who love each other and are fearless about going wherever their imaginations will take them. I was put immediately into a place of feeling safe and ready to go with them.
