What I liked
Mélia is so darn likable, I would listen to her tell a story about anything!
I loved the various characters Mélia played. She brought each of them to life with such specificity. And the earnestness of her own character is deeply felt: that longing to belong! It is so universal. Especially for teenagers, searching for identity… but really, that is something we all face. I so appreciated this very unique way of telling that story.
I also appreciated the rap songs! Mélia, I will dance with you anytime, anywhere. Just say the word!
What I didn't like
My only suggestion… do not let people enter the space late! There were 3 or 4 people who came in late, and given that the only entrance is through the playing space itself, I was frustrated by the interruptions. But I have to hand it to Mélia, she was not phased at all! Impressive.
My overall impression
A coming of age story, that is not quite what one would expect.
