I loved the creativity working with minimal props and costumes. The actors had great chemistry and the plot had a twist at the end which was very enjoyable.
What I didn't like
I think the over all campy-ness of the show helped to make it fun and keep it light hearted and fun. I think it was even hilarious to have Jem turn into Jerrica and back only having the other actors standing in front of her or her run off stage. Though I think there could have been some thought put into some lighting effect or a shimmering curtain or something to simulate some sort of materialization of the hologram effect. The presence of this special effect would only enhance the show and its absence takes nothing away, but that is the only thing I can think of that would be an improvement.
My overall impression
Truly Outrageous was a delight. The cast was perfect, the lyrics to the songs were great, the costumes were evocative and there was a nostalgic feeling of the 80’s!
