What I liked
The hair, costumes, and lighting design steal the show. It looks amazing! The script is a pitch perfect parody of the plot of EVERY 80’s film & TV show. The characters are hilariously 2-dimensional. All of this deliberate artifice makes the romance plot stand out as the element that truly matters.
What I didn't like
The only way I can think of to improve this play is the use of ACTUAL HOLOGRAM TECHNOLOGY. Is that a thing?
My overall impression
Jem is as radically neon on stage as she is in my hazy cartoon memories.
