What I liked

From the moment Ariel stepped on stage, his magnetic presence immediately drew the audience in. He effortlessly commanded attention, weaving together moments of hilarity and vulnerability with impeccable timing. Like Bo Burnham, Ariel’s self-referential style was a highlight of the show, with meta-commentaries and clever observations that often blurred the lines between performer and audience.

The punk rock attitude permeated the entire performance, injecting an edgy energy that kept the crowd engaged throughout. Ariel fearlessly confronted societal norms, challenging conventional expectations with his unapologetic authenticity. His delivery was sharp, punchy, and full of rebellious charm, leaving no topic off-limits as he delved into personal experiences and societal constructs. His comedic stylings and perspectives bring a fresh take on the self-referential genre, providing audiences with an authentic and thought-provoking experience.

What I didn't like

If the artist had more access to funding and a production crew, I could see the show being elevated to another level.

My overall impression

Empathy Party is a captivating and thought-provoking experience that left the audience both entertained and introspective. With a style reminiscent of renowned comedian Bo Burnham, Ariel masterfully combines self-referential humor, a punk rock attitude, and nihilistic undertones, creating a performance that delves deep into themes of self-love and healing one’s inner child.
