Helema is brave and beautiful. She is a teacher. Using her skills as a songwriter and playwright, she gives generously. And I love a happy ending! I will be having afterthoughts of the play for days.
What I didn't like
With only 80 minutes to convey so much, it must be difficult to pick which periods on which to focus. I wished for more laughter, both as an audience member and for Helema in life.
My overall impression
A naked look into one brave woman’s survival and flourishing. Exposed and vulnerable, through music and Buddhism, she comes into being – whole and worldly – and strong enough to share her pain and glory with an audience filled with people who can relate.
