Johnny’s positive outlook on life, even though he struggled and persevered through moments that many of us can’t even imagine going through. He serves himself as an example that you can keep going… that it is possible… and that we must keep going.
What I didn't like
The wardrobe changes throughout the performance were well done, I preferred Johnny style of changing in front of the audience, instead of doing the typical behind the curtain change. When he does one of his last wardrobe changes into (spoiler alert!) S*****M** I would have liked to see a bit more secrecy into what he was changing into. The fact that we were able to see the costume took away from the “surprise”. If Johnny can find a way to wardrobe change without revealing the whole costume, it would make his moment of “having to earn money a different way” land harder.
My overall impression
The performance was gripping from beginning to end. That’s rare. Johnny captured my attention and took me on a ride of emotions watching him recount his story. The simplicity (not meant in bad way) of the show made it easy to follow and be able to connect heart to heart. Johnny knew exactly what story he was telling and didn’t stray far away from it. He has a great ability to interact with the crowd yet continue his performance the way he planned.
