What I liked

The two leads, Maya and Mikel, had incredible chemistry. Their opening discussion of The Boys in the Band immediately hooked me: It set both the scene and the tone. All references to NY life landed. There was so much subtle humor. It felt like the right time to revisit this moment in history.

What I didn't like

Probably a few distinctions among characters. Maya did an amazing job with multiple roles. Daniel Kuhlman plays two psychiatrists: We could stand to understand them better as different people––although, to be fair, I did think they might have been different actors. So the performance works.

My overall impression

Witty, very NYC-centric, and well-researched. Important and little-known topic, stellar performances, leads posessed incredible chemistry, funny, timely, and scarily relevant
