What I liked

Sick was fast-paced and enjoyable. I’ve been hard-core at work and little sleep for three days, but I didn’t even nod off during the 90-minute show. There must have been 12 scene changes made rapidly by actors and stagehands, lickity-split. I loved the dial phone used on stage, but the only call made on it was four digits, and I don’t think it was an inside call.

What I didn't like

The rear row of stage lights shone on the stage, but into the audience as well. They weren’t used a lot at full strength, but bad enough that I squinted a bit.

My overall impression

Fast-paced, excellent dramatization of the 1973 removal of “being gay” from the book used for diagnoses by mental health professionals up to that time. Gay and straight characters talking it out and coming to the right decision, despite the hatred of Charles Socarides, the most evil mental health person from that era whose book is still used by conversion “therapists” even though it is universally seen as hateful, misguided (bad science) tripe.
