What I liked

I loved the accents, characters and humor, which is to be expected because Mary is a stand up comedian. But, what surprised me was the intensity of the more vulnerable moments, which was so lovely to see in this show. Mary had great command of the stage and excellent emotional range as she seamlessly transitioned from the deeply painful moments back to the absurdly funny ones – sniffing that lipstick was such a vivid and hilarious description (and there were so many memorable moments like that). I could tell this was such a personal story and one that took a lot of courage and vulnerability to put on stage. And it’s what makes this show endearing and funny and full of heart. Baaaaa, honey.

What I didn't like

It all worked for me.

My overall impression

A relatable and funny show with a lot of heart. This show really had it all for me. The cultural tidbits and sprinkling of Armenian words and of course, Vartoush, all add so much flair – it has a My Big Fat Greek Wedding vibe, though there were NO weddings. Phew! Inside joke, you’ll get it when you see this show.
