What I liked

Both actors capture the audience’s attention from the word “happy girl” and their energy and enthusiasm launches the play’s trajectory into nuanced complexities, peeling back the layers of emotions, meta-emotions, and meta meta-emotions young women experience in major life transitions like the one found in this story. I was very impressed with the pacing set – and maintained – for the entire performance.

What I didn't like

One too many audience interactions. One role switch didn’t work. Once the reveal begins it unfolds too slowly. Small tweaks to an otherwise well crafted story, tremendously executed by the two actors.

My overall impression

Simply put, this is a “must see” performance. Cara Schell Sandefur and Ashley McQueston deliver a perpetual motion stream of consciousness that delights, amazes, engages, befuddles, and thoroughly entertains the audience. The College Freshwoman experience is on full display in Stevens’ one act thrill ride.
