Saw this amazing show last Sunday, the 10th. What a thrill ride it was. Combines all forms of music from Wagner, to Pop, to Rap and explores relationships, Faust, Book of Revelations, cats, and finding da cheezburger. You do not want to miss this. Such energy and such talent on one little stage. It will knock your socks off! kudos to the cast, crew, the director, and the writers.... full review

Sitting in the audience was a treat indeed! LOLpera was a deliciously fun, yet super smart show that entertained from start to finish. The music was beautifully written despite the hilarious content and each character was perfectly cast. I am thrilled I had the opportunity to see this gem...kudos to Ellen Warkentine and Andrew Pedroza for their masterpiece!... full review

You might think that a show based on LOLcats might be a waste of time. You might think that an OPERA based on LOLcats might not only be a waste of time, but an impossibility. Well, be ready to be proven wrong by Ellen Warkentine and Andrew Pedroza. This wildly absurd and hilarious trip through the anthropomorphic world of LOLcats is not only entertaining, but surprisingly coherent. Within (and using ONLY words from LOLcats postings), the artists tell a story not just about the creation of the universe, but about good and evil, family life, office work, love and loss. While never reaching levels of authentic emotion, the quality music, dedication of the incredibly talented cast, and the absolute inanity of it all will keep you laughing f... full review

It was much better than CATS! You MUST see this show. The writing is genius...the music is fantastic...the concept is like no other. If you don't laugh during this show, you don't know what entertainment is. You will love it!... full review

LOLPERA is current, fresh and hip. The LOL Cats on the screen combined with musical performance, ensamble cast, singing, dancing, choreography, cats, more cats and lolwalrus makes it SO meta, one has to be really careful not to lose his/hers shit when LOLing in the theatre! Brilliant idea, brilliant concept, brilliant writting!!!!! A MUST SEE!!! ... full review

"Lolpera" is brilliant! Part of brilliance is picking what to write about, and Andrew and Ellen have definitely caught the zeitgeist of the moment and written about it masterfully. This show is so good that in a year I expect it to be on Broadway at ticket prices I cannot afford. If you haven't seen it yet, let Basement Cat assimilate you to catch it wherever and whenever you can. It'll be in New York in August. If it's not sold out for its final performance of the Hollywood Fringe, buy your ticket from this site before you finish reading this rev...... full review

This show is amazing!!!! Such a great concept and extremely well executed. There were times in which the stage seemed a bit crowded by the large ensemble and some of the cast members seemed to have difficulty consistently reaching their notes. Beyond that, I think this show is fun, smart, most definitely epic, and has unbelievable potential to be something truly spectacular!!!... full review

I was worried I wouldn't get the jokes in this play, but I needn't have worried. I laughed all the way through, but what I'll remember even more than that is how amazing the music was. 8 piece band, tremendous cast, a huge epic story of good and evil, love and loss. Yes, it's all played for comedy, but it's actually quite moving. And the opera thing isn't really an out-and-out joke: when I think opera, I think about people using non-English language and boy is this stuff not English. But the meaning behind it pervades. A really remarkable achievement and a hugely enjoyable theatrical accomplishment.... full review
