My overall impression

This was a solid production. Congrats guys! Though I have to warn the audience to prepare for an hour of 3 dominating woman characters played by the same dominating actress and 3 submissive and apologetic males played by the same downplayed actor. This doesn’t necessarily destroy the enjoyment but it makes the balance noticably off. I do wonder if what I saw was one play or three seperate plays. The first two male chatacters did have an eerie relation to each other but maybe there was some connection I missed. Were they the same? I’m still scratching my head a bit – which isn’t a bad thing. The female lead though never subtle was clearly a powerhouse of her craft. Sorta like a female Al Pacino – with a better bod but the same husky explosive voice.

I want to acknowledge that it may have been Mitchell’s intention to keep their power balance off throughout – therefore the casting is in a sense justified But from my point of view as an audience member, in the battle of the sexes, there’s nothing better than watching a fair fight.
