My overall impression
Dark, disturbing and quite fantastic. This play had me on the edge of my seat as every reveal surprised me. The writing was wry, sardonic and deeply observant into the female psyche. I’m a big fan of plays with casts of all women and Colette Freedman did a wonderful job creating the five diverse voices. The actresses were universally good in their portrayal of the four extremely diverse sisters and the mother’s monologue to the audience made me cry. Savannah Bloch’s direction was equally fast paced and delicate as I felt like a voyeur into the lives of this severely dysfunctional; albeit, highly entertaining family.
