Jennifer Aniston Stole My Life

VERY INTERESTING I really enjoyed this show. I was expecting just a comedy and got much more! It was also quite dark at times which was delicious. Overall the story was very good, the acting was good. I enjoyed the ENTIRE casts performance... All of their characters were interesting. I especially liked Jesse Holcombs performance. I will not blow the ending for you but I almost blurted out "WOW" as it was happening. I would love to see the mothers character fleshed out a bit more. She has some very quirky aspects but I am not sure they always make sense to what's going on. That said, she was very engaging throughout. There are a few issues with being able to see cast members offstage moving into position and a few hiccups... full review

The play was phenomenal! I really enjoyed it. It did make me laugh and cry as promised and touched on so many pertinent issues. As an aspiring artist in the "land of la," as Barbara Keegan's character Rue so wonderfully put it, this show touched me on a deep level. It explores celebrity aspirations and the lives that result from them in a very poignant and broadcast manner. If you've ever dreamed of an artistic career I believe it is impossible to see this show without it mirroring some, if not all, of the fears, hopes, joys, and pains of this topsy turvy world which we all love. All of the artists involved have lifted Jon's wonderful word's to great heights and should collectively be very proud of their work. Definitely check it out!... full review

First, a disclaimer-- I'm a New Yorker. We pride ourselves on being the ultimate critics. Finding something wrong with almost everything is part of our zip code. In addition, I'm a writer, script doctor and novel editor. When I watch a play, I see the page. And way too often I find myself involuntarily cutting, adding, rearranging, down to commas, periods and breaths! It's a chronic condition. I have learned to live with it. This is a great show. It's very funny but also has deep characters. The cast does a fantastic job. It's about Hollywood, but also about the dream of Hollywood. And it's also about mental illness. It's a show that sneaks up on you, you're laughing and everything's going along and all of a sudden you realize you're somewhere very deep and a little scary. You have to see it!!!... full review

Absolutely incredible! Fantastic acting, great direction, and a kickass play. I went with low expectations, but I left feeling exhilarated. It was hilarious and dead serious. What a wonderful production! I hope to see many more great things from this group!... full review

I wasn't really enthralled by the story as it is one played out over and over in Hollywood; however, I was pleasantly surprised by a few twists that changed my mind about the overall story. The acting made this show one of the better shows in the Fringe. I wouldn't put it in my top ten for certain, but would definitely say it is one of the plays that makes the Fringe a great event. I was really fond of the acting of Lo. I'm not sure why she was so captivating, but she had an element of realism about her that garnered my pity. Maybe it's because I have a disabled child and understand how his rhythms and behaviors are nothing like the rest of the family and he is just himself and everyone understands and accepts him. At the end of the day there's nothing that beats hard work. Its clear that "Jennifer Anniston Stole My Life" is the result of some heavy lifting hard work - from the playwright who painstakingly worked out every twist and turn; from the director who milked every moment but never lost the thruline, to the actors who poured heart and soul into a story they obviously felt deep in their bones. And, finally, Jennifer Anniston may have stolen these characters lives, but Jesse Holcomb, as Lo, will steal you heart - and that is just some kind of magic. As Lo herself says, "Well duh!"
