My overall impression
An energetic and full-hearted performance but it was undone by a poorly developed script. You cannot evoke an Irish accent merely by changing every “my” to me;" there is also grammer. The same applies to sea-faring lingo—I never believed her as a ship’s captain. History seems to be adrift here, too. It was never clear who was fighting who. And to appeal to Elizabeth I, the Virgin Queen, on a ‘mother-to-mother’ basis?
