What I liked

The production felt greater than the sum of its parts. Lighting and video played supporting roles and never distracted from the live performance. Barrett did a great job of balancing the production design with Green’s physical in-the-round blocking.

What I didn't like

Some of the audio of the video was hard to hear.

My overall impression

Green’s taut performance was engaging, humorous and provocative. While following the arc common to many coming out stories, he portrayed nuanced and insightful experiences the illuminate the double bind of being black and queer in his family, black community, queer community and American society at large.
