I wish he had more of an uplifting ending so the audience would be motivated in that final moment to give the standing ovation he deserved. This is a shallow comment because the ending was real and dark. It was the right ending, but we weren’t motivated to cheer and this performance should be cheered.
My overall impression
Dog was fantastic. High energy. Almost slam poetry, but with a heartfelt, sad storyline. He made a character we’d all toss off immediately as an asshole and avoid straight away – he made that guy sympathetic, if not likable. Maybe we shouldn’t be so quick to judge people until we walk a mile in their one person show.
