Very funny and engaging – never really felt like a performance – from the little happy dance when celebrating a win to the boredom on the stripper’s face during the grad school portion of the story, it all came across as very genuine. Jokes/stories that seemed more like asides earlier in the show wound up being key to the conclusion that really packed a wallop. Hilarious and heart wrenching… each in the right measure.
What I didn't like
I would have liked to see it on a larger stage… while it’s not a show with tons of movement, there were times when the stage seemed confining.
My overall impression
Fantastic show! Promoted as the story of someone who escaped/evolved/moved on from a religious life, but it was so much more than just that.
