What I liked

I liked the connection, emotion and action of this story Consumption. I felt the two co-stars Lawrence Dwyer and Raja Deka were strong and professional actors and it kept me wanting to hear more about the story. In Puppy Love Richard Baughman was a believable, lovable pet owner and had great chemistry with Sade Spence. Nancy Barragan hit the right comedic tone of her character. In Best Actor—Adrian did a great job connecting to his inner “Shining” monster, and Chanel Woodard played well off of this with her incredible energy.

What I didn't like

When Nancy first introduces herself to Richard at the park, around the third line her voice needed to project more. I was in the second row, and didn’t hear a few lines before he gave her a treat. This is so minor but I pay attention to detail. The price tag on Chanel Woodard’s beautiful flowing top could be seen under her arm when she turned around. (flip it over and tape it to her arm). I do know sometimes wardrobe does need to be returned.

My overall impression

This show consists of three one-act plays consisting of three different stories all written by Lawrence Dwyer. Consumption was the first play and it was incredibly written and starred Lawrence Dwyer and Raja Deka. A lot of the audience connected with the raw emotion of this story because there were people crying at different parts of the play at times. Lawrence and Raja’s performance together was believable and remarkable! Puppy Love was the second act in which these actors worked well together starring Nancy Barragan, Sade Spence and Richard Baughman and had the audience laughing out loud. The third Act titled Best Actor starred Chanel Woodard and Adrian Hunt who had amazing energy working together. I highly recommend seeing this show Peas in a Pod which is only for two more nights – Friday June 24th at 6:30pm and Saturday June 25th at 10pm. .
