About the Project

Three 10 minute plays performed together to take a comedic look at the current times we live in. From poking fun at society’s addiction to social media, to holding a lens up to the farcical extremes political campaigns take- there’s something in this trio for everybody to laugh at. And sometimes a good laugh is all you need to live through these “unprecedented times”. The first play in our Summer Set, “Go to the Light” centers around 3 siblings who gather to give their final goodbyes to their Dad. Even during this difficult time, everybody in the room finds it difficult to disconnect from their phones. In the second play, “Toby 24/7 Gets Lucky” the question raised is: what would you do if you fell wholeheartedly, and unknowingly, for a reality star with millions of people watching? Lastly, the final play in this set, “The Spot” looks at how far campaign managers will go to create the perfect political commercial for their candidate. With all the punch of fast paced newspaper dramas of days gone by, this satirical piece is the perfect way to complete our trio.
