What I liked

I liked how carefully each of the actors did not make eye contact during the show, letting the audience know that they couldn’t actually see one another. I liked how they did then make contact when their circumstance changed. I thought all the actors did a great job. Costuming looked wonderful. Amy was dressed how her parents must have viewed her, kind of young and naive when she was really anything but those. Very nice staging too.

What I didn't like

I would like to see all the actors without shoes, as that is how people are usually buried. I think that’s kind of picky but you did ask. Also, initially I was disturbed by the staging of the grave “visitors” in the aisle where it was hard to see them. Then I realized that was part of the experience of the dead on stage. So I ended up loving that part too.

My overall impression

This show was fantastic! I highly recommend this to anyone coming to the festival. It explores the unknown in a very inventive way. We all wonder about death, so why not explore death through the experiences of those already dead? This show examines what it means to be dead and looks at the very human experience of attempting to connect with others even after death. I really liked this imaginative way of examining this topic. Not a lot of time was spent with the dead talking about why or how they died. Instead, they are able to take time to examine their relationships when they were alive and attempt to build relationships after death. Really interesting and fascinating stuff. It was also wonderful to see an actual play at Fringe Fest. This was a large cast and well-rehearsed. I really enjoyed seeing a well written, masterfully directed and acted large cast play.
