EXTRA! is a comedic one woman show written and performed by Travina Springer.

Growing up an Army brat, Travina had other things to worry about than following the rules and meeting the expectations of her loving but overprotective parents. She was repeatedly the “new kid” showing up to different schools, having to make her way into an already established dynamic, proving herself year after year. Deeper desires to fit in and be accepted, forced Travina to use what was her God-given talent: being Extra.
Through stand up and storytelling, Travina tells the “coming into adulthood” story of a loud, overachieving, clumsy Black girl who yearns to just be seen as “enough” in this world. We journey through how she comes into her understanding of herself as a Black woman, and her realizations that she is Black enough, smart enough, talented enough, Muslim enough, and worthy enough…even though she still might be EXTRA.
