I love the use of color throughout the performance and found it to be symbolic in its own way. The gradient of yellow and orange demands our attention and deceives our predilections to what is about to unfold.
What I didn't like
Something to improve on would be the transitions between scenes; they felt a bit disjointed and left me wondering whether the set and actors were in the right place.
My overall impression
An exploration in weighing the line between love and exploitation, Promises leads us deeply into the cycle of abuse and its effects on relationships between friends, family, and self. A truly heart wrenching story told with a mass of concern, Natalia Ortega and Alejandro Dolores urge audiences to tune into the issue of domestic violence and take action to create a future free from harm.
