The complete use of the performance space – main stage, side “go-go” dance mini-stages, and the audience area, where the drama and music would flow in and around like an immersive fever dream.
What I didn't like
It its effort to try and cover the entirety of the Lynch canon, sometimes the references felt less than organic (such as the nod to “The Straight Story”). Non-Lynch fans won’t register these moments, so maybe it’s a minor quibble.
My overall impression
Easily the most stylized, polished, and bonkers entertaining show of the fest. If you’re a Lynch fan, you absolutely cannot miss this pastiche of bizarro moments inspired by nearly (possibly) all of his cinematic (and television) works, complete with musical numbers and characterizations that will leave you fizzier than a shaken can of Pabst Blue Ribbon. I would suspect non-Lynch fans would also find themselves swept up in the heady, often hilarious, and downright mesmerizing pull of this wild ride.
