Once the play got going, the cast was funny and engaging. There are some clever turns towards the end, both in terms of plot points and style – they got some big laughs out of me.
What I didn't like
The opening is a little sedate; the beats are underplayed to the piece’s detriment as the intended tone is difficult to discern. Fortunately, this doesn’t last; the play gets going after a scene or two and settles into something much more tonally clear. The transitions were a little rough at times, and the music for them could have been varied more, but the showing I saw had some behind the scenes technical difficulties which may explain that.
My overall impression
Charming, funny, quirky satanist bromance, an exciting new subgenre
