About the Project

Past the sprinklers, down the driveways, behind the fly wire doors, in every house, there are stories. Enter the world of Allnutt St, a place where children ride wild on BMX bikes, where backyard olympics are created and where Andrea Gibbs’ dad breathed life back into a sausage dog using mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

I suppose it’s street like any other in Australia.

The Allnutt Street Diaries is a collection of true stories, diary entries, cassette tape recordings and backyard videos from the street Andrea grew up on and kids she called her gang.

The co-creator of Barefaced Stories and writer/performer of sell-out show Grow Up (Fringe World Australia 2011), Big HOO-HAA! comedian Andrea Gibbs will have you reminiscing about the street you grew up on and the sunburnt nose that came with it.

“One of the most exciting, funny, unique and talented comic performers I’ve had the good fortune to stumble upon” – Tim Minchin

“Gibbs is quite simply superb” – The Guardian Express

“If a comedian makes you laugh, they’ve done their job. But if you can relate to their anecdotes on a personal level, even better. Such is the case for the extremely likeable local funny girl Andrea Gibbs. There wasn’t an empty seat in the house as Gibbs stepped onto the PICA theatre stage” – The West Australian.
