What I liked
The show stopper was the clearly The Formula Love Song which brought down the house. I was smiling, singing along and yes tears were forming— all at the same time.
What I didn't like
It wasn’t long enough and it seemed like Steve had to rush at some points during the performance because of the next Fringe Act. That is too bad. We were eating him up. Wish he could take his time more.
My overall impression
Steve has a way of creating magic with music. And man, can he sell a song- it’s hard to explain, but when he hits the keys you feel it. It’s a unique experience watching him perform his creations—It’s truly Altmanesque. There’s no one like him -his voice, the chord progressions and those soaring catchy melodies that make you laugh and tap your feet. Then in an instant, it turns-there is that sudden offbeat dissonance and your heart is in your throat. The audience was constantly smiling and wiping tears. That, is the gift of watching Steve perform.
