What I liked

I absolutely loved all of the music. Beautifully written and beautifully performed. I also loved the imagery used on a screen to make a point.

What I didn't like

I hated that the individual in charge of theater turned on the house lights and told us it was time to go, even though the show was not over. I understand how Fringe works. One show out and another one in. But this particular performance, which began at 1:30 PM was not shadowed by another show until 6:00 PM. This was also a preview, so even though the cast and house manager timed it, it’s going to be different with an audience who is laughing and clapping throughout. So the behavior of the theater was rude and unwarranted.

My overall impression

I knew Steve Altman was talented the first time I saw the John Lennon tribute show Just Imagine which I’ve probably seen at least 20 times. But his talent far exceeds who I knew him to be. I told him it was genius after the show and I meant it. So insightful, deep, and spiritual. It makes you really think, in spite of how comedic it was at times. Yes, you will laugh, and at times you will feel sad, and that’s the whole point of art….to make you FEEL. Bravo Steve Altman!!!
