The writing is very good — many of the plays are very funny ! There is the occasional poignant moment. Direction and blocking are top-notch, and the cast is able to execute dialogue and blocking at top speed. I just saw this play won an award in 2013, so they have either been doing this or polishing this for quite a while and it shows.
What I didn't like
Each play is self-contained — the writers could consider a callback to an earlier play. By the nature of the show, we don’t stay with any of the characters too long.
My overall impression
“25 Plays Per Hour” is just that – 25 2-minute plays, especially written for this show, each with a beginning, middle, and end. The ensemble cast is very good, and the direction and pacing are brilliant and lighting-speed. Highly recommended ! Includes a musical play !
