The minimal set and creative use of lights surprised and delighted. The passage of time, so noted by a slowly emptying glass of water, kept the whole thing grounded. And the changes in rhythm and clarity of intention kept the audience leaning in and wanting more.
What I didn't like
There was a tech issue at the top of the performance that confused things but that was short lived.
My overall impression
Excellent adaptation of an epic, charmingly performed in an intimate setting. This version of Beowulf enchants while keeping the pace quick and the story clear. More than can be said for the original.
