What I liked
Just before the show started the song that was playing was “this is me” from The Greatest Showman.
It felt so deliberate and perfect as a way to introduce this play and then they were advertisements and we weren’t sure if it was on purpose or just an amazingly good coincidence. Either way it was a great introduction and the song at the end was a perfect weekend
What I didn't like
Remember that the theatre has three audience sections
My overall impression
It was wonderful to see the metamorphosis from Maria’s first read on Zoom to this amazing stage production! The stories told were very relatable. The mother speech is one that every adolescent wishes they could hear and a nudge for parents everywhere to get over it and up their game.
