What I liked

The simpler and more barebones approach to the set design and direction allow a focus on the language that keeps the show’s edge razor sharp. The space itself is very intimate, which lets each of the actors shine.

Caeden and Hailee were two big standouts. Hailee brought vigor and searing hot humor to her role while caeden was able to deftly handle some of the more nuanced but no less intense emotional beats of the show.

What I didn't like

I feel like there can be more expanded upon with the teacher and the lecture, it’s absurd and escalates as the show goes on, but I think one more big pay off where it really goes off the rails on the lesson plan would hammer home some of the more “we need better sex ed” messaging of the piece. Overall, an extremely well done show with an excellent Cast and tasteful direction.

My overall impression

A timely, relevant, important piece of theater that integrates the impulsivity of youth with the messiness of relationships. How childish impulses have adult consequences.

The piece crackles with humor and wit, and every character feels full of possibility, in that tragic-smalltown-Texas-stuck-here-forever kind of way
