What I didn't like
It is an intimate show as it should be and I might enjoy it more with a piano player there instead of the musical track accompanying. Not sure about this but it’s just a thought. Sadly I know that would make the show more expensive to perform and in this day and age, that is a very important thing to consider.
My overall impression
OUT OF THE BLUE is a truly wonderful and very heartfelt show. This is a personal show that manages to remain very personal while touching every person in the audience. Beautifully and sincerely performed, it’s an emotional journey that manages to not only touch our hearts DEEPLY but keeps us beautifully entertained at the same time. Eli Hans has been through a lot and I mean A LOT. It is quite a journey he takes us on as he goes back over what he’s been through in his life and he accomplishes that rare quality of looking back with brutal honesty, warm humor, touching grace and a keen eye that makes us stand and applaud his life as well as his performance. This show and this man have HEART!!! He has a lovely voice and the songs are deep and strong enough to stand on their own giving us much to reflect on about love, loss, fear, shame and life! I came away truly celebrating Eli Hans and his husband Joseph Bennet. Bravo!!!…and THANK YOU for sharing your story.
