What I liked
Gabriella herself is hilarious. My friend and I were cracking up. I especially loved how she anthropomorphized various objects and places – the Costa Rica woman stands out as does her first home Elvera – all Palm Springs sunburn and loud floral dress. Rayna’s affectless “I know right” made me laugh out loud every time! And of course all the desert characters – if you’ve spent any time out there you know there are so many wild personalities in the desert and she captures so many of them in one show! Fantastic job!
What I didn't like
This is really a nitpick because I loved the show, but I would make the contrast of some of the male characters a bit more emphasized. Also when Gabriella is arguing with the contractor who wants to build the fire pit their voices and timbres sounded almost exactly the same – maybe Gabriella could bring her “self” voice a bit more into the realm of reasonableness to highlight how unreasonable the guy was being.
