What I liked

I really enjoyed the actors. Seriously. They were human and not put on at all. Humans with desires they were trying to fulfill. I enjoyed the lighting and choreographed moments in transitions and wanted even more. Oh, and sexual connections shown with actors spread out from each other was fascinating and so vulnerable. I loved that.

What I didn't like

Maybe it’s just the nature of a show starting and the story beginning, but it felt hard for me to jump into the show at the beginning. I almost wanted more space to breath in John and M and see them in space without words. Potentially moving together more, seeing the nature of their relationship through dance or something… but I’m kind of reaching because I truly enjoyed it all.

My overall impression

A wonderful show. The actors truly sold this wild journey in identity, sexuality, and belonging. Each actor was a revelation, which I don’t say lightly. They transformed an intimate theater in the round into bedrooms, homes, back patio dining spaces and took us along for messy, engaging human conversations. I walked out and was discussing the weight of defining sexuality and identity in black and white terms. I felt challenged, enlightened, and intrigued. And I love with theater inspires conversation!! It’s the point! I also particularly noticed the direction was clear and a vision was pursued and achieved. The transitions between scenes were tight, poetic, and lyrical and the vulnerability expressed through the intimate staging helped communicate so much story! I’m a fan. Good job Cock team!! Go see the show.
