What I liked

Clearly a lot of work went into this immersive experiences, and it shows. The actors really worked hard to define their characters and where they fit into this strange world. At one point, a fun creature “escaped” their confinement and all of the scientists had a little freak-out before putting him back, and I enjoyed it so much, I decided to go on my own mission of seeing how many times I could break him out again just to see what would happen (I eventually had to check in with the head of security for punishment).

What I didn't like

With a run time of 2 hours, you start to lose a bit of the story and what exactly is going on. The same goes with having so many characters, you lose sight on the story. There was the occasional moment when a character would tell me to find another character and ask them about (blank), but when I’d bring that up, the character seemed confused and didn’t know what I was talking about, or worried because they’d forgotten that part of the show? I brushed it off and went on another side mission, but I know if I hadn’t decided to have fun with this show and take charge by constantly asking characters how I could help them, I’d be walking around and confused about what to do in the moment, especially if I’d arrived alone. This might do well as a 2-part experience? And of course having so many participants and performers in such a small space caused constant anxiety.

My overall impression

Going into this immersive experience, I wondered if I would get as much out of it as others, seeing as I have no knowledge of SCP (Secure, Contain, Protect) or its online following. But I went in with no expectations and had a great time! It definitely requires some work on your end to find your own entertainment, but there are always characters walking around for you to interact with. My advice: Go with a friend or find someone there who also arrived solo and team up, it’s more fun when you’re working with someone else on side missions.
