What I liked

The humor in this production is both surreal and relatable. Characters like “Bumdinger Chasenipples” and “Our Lady of Perpetual Disappointment” add to the offbeat charm, making the storyline feel vivid and unpredictable. The theme of community as a path to recovery is beautifully explored through the “NO MATTER WATTS” motto, which resonates with anyone familiar with addiction and recovery themes.

What I didn't like

While the musical’s eccentric style is a strength, it occasionally veers so far into surreal territory that it risks losing focus on the main message. Some of the humor, while funny, can make it harder to connect with the characters’ deeper struggles

My overall impression

This quirky, darkly comedic musical cabaret presents a uniquely absurd yet heartfelt journey of recovery. Through lively characters with memorable names and peculiar quirks, it captures the struggle of overcoming self-destructive behaviors and slope embracing self-awareness. The title As Sick as His Secrets immediately sets a raw, honest tone that’s balanced by a blend of humor and introspection. It’s refreshing to see a story so openly explore the healing process through such an eclectic cast and musical numbers.
