Outta the Blue

About the Project

Answers Outta the Blue—a solo performance—illustrates dramatic intervention by God to cries for help in one man’s true-to-life predicaments. The stories-within-a-story touch upon family dysfunction, runaway youth, impossible encounters, international misadventures, cancer, the unseen and redemption. In 60 minutes, its 5 chapters present 23 characters of diverse age, gender and ethnicity, performed by actor Joseph Steven.

The characters portrayed include an 8 year old boy, his mother and father; the 16 year old teenager, and ‘an entity’; a young man, his long lost friend, his middle age aunt, a prostitute, gay bartender, an old hag, young female travel agent, an art gallery owner, and a black baptist preacher; an airline pilot, stewardess, 3 thieving gypsies, a communist tour guide, his parents; an adult man, his dying mother; and, more.
