What I liked
The various characters Jon played worked really well. Along with using the entire space, addressing the audience in different angles really helped push the intensity of the piece. Every time there was a significant moment when Jon faced a brutality reality, there was use of a repetition sound which cemented a personal but also moment for the audience to voice their expressions on how Jon should move forward.
What I didn't like
If that was part 1, what does part 2 and three look like? College years and now post-grad life. Well done.
My overall impression
It was an impressive night of theatre. A plethora of moving images, moments of exciting character work ranging from a child all the way to college. It truly was a profound piece containing challenging/remember confrontations of critical moments that made Jon the person who he is today. Great use of the stage, along with various props at the ready, and an intimate, bonafide conversation with us. Well done.
