What I liked

The musical uses a small cast to tell a huge, emotionally powerful story about love, friendship, humanity, science, identity, transition and acceptance. It handles its themes with humor, heart, and nuance, sometimes grappling with them directly and sometimes folding them into a fast-moving plot that keeps you invested in the characters and their evolving relationships. The songs, cast, and storytelling are all beautifully suited to each other and combine into a musical that will be stuck in your head for weeks to come.

What I didn't like

The video of the livestream was very well done, but the audio had some challenges, especially when the full cast came together for songs and the collective volume started cracking the audio ceiling. I would love to have the option of CC if possible!

My overall impression

A fun, bombastic, sensitive, heartfelt, funny, catchy musical with a propulsive storyline and fabulous cast.
