I really loved the phone calls and how she reacted when being interrupted during her ‘work’ on her book. She got progressively irritated and I could see another side to her persona. A crack in the perfect facade.
What I didn't like
I would have liked to have seen her drink more champaign throughout the play and get more woozy as the interview goes on and get more emotional when talking about certain men and subject matters as the booze and pills kick in.
My overall impression
What a beautiful actress Kayla Boye is. I love that she chose to portray Elizabeth Taylor since she does indeed resemble her. I was very impressed by the elegant set, her fabulous black dress and gorgeous hair. Her voice and cadence as Elizabeth Taylor was genuine as she tells the story of life to the figure writing her biography. I thought it was informative and well written. As another reviewer wrote, yes, this show is extremely polished. She knows exactly when to do what and no moves are wasted. Her expressions all stem from organic places and she’s very elegant always.
