What I liked

Mr. Campbell did a masterful job of weaving the darkness and depths of unending grief with humor and care. My husband didn’t want to come with me to the show because he thought it would just be a non-stop sadfest. How could a show about losing all your children be anything but endlessly sad? It’s this type of avoidance of discomfort that Campbell challenges in this show. Humans can hold multitudes; we can be in a pit of sadness AND find things that make us smile remembering our lost loved ones. We can wake up first thing in the morning facing the horrific daily reminder of loss AND we can want to have sex with our partner that night. It isn’t either/or, and Campbell’s show exposed aspects of grief that only those who are in that club (the club no one wants to be in) can ever truly know. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and your beautiful children with us.

What I didn't like

Nothing.

My overall impression

A really thoughtful, nuanced exploration of grief in a culture that doesn’t teach us how to talk about grief—even though it is one thing that we will all experience at one point or another.
