I was taken by surprise on how invested I was in every characters story, all brought to life by Katierose Enriquez with seemingly effortless changes, almost transformations, in body language, cadence, and movement.
The show is if course hilarious, but the drama elements are just as excellent and acted marvelously. It’s the perfect blend, kind of like a Philly Cheesesteak. It’s the Philly Cheesesteak of one woman shows.
What I didn't like
I hope more people see this great show so it can continue to grow in scale and design. It’s well worth your ticket, and I can only see it improving by getting bigger opportunities.
My overall impression
Queen of Fishtown is like if “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” had a tender side. Amid the hilarious situational and physical comedy you start to see that there’s a strong, well thought out, original, and inspiring story. It’s like being transported and immersed in a neighborhood in Philly for an hour with a friend you never knew you wanted in your life.
