MaryLee plays a multitude of characters, each developed so fully that you never wonder who’s talking. Also, her agility from moving from one character to another, and one scene to another was flawless. And her creativity in how she shared the story was delightful. She moved fluidly around the stage from one scene to the next, and never missed a beat. And the story, was so real, so sweet, and so heart wrenching at times, while hilariously funny at others. I was never taken out of the story for a moment. I was with her for the whole ride. And very happy to have gone on it with her.
What I didn't like
As a writer and theatre buff I usually have at least a handful of notes, but I don’t for this play and its presentation.
It truly deserved the standing ovation that it received last night.
My overall impression
Wow! What remarkable evening in the theatre. Brilliant, poignant, funny, real. MaryLee gets to your funny bone and your heart and every body part in between.
