What I didn't like
Ensuring compatibility between different software versions and the ability to manage clusters effectively through the UI is essential for seamless operations. This incident highlights the importance of thorough testing and having a reliable fallback plan when dealing with critical infrastructure upgrades.
My overall impression
After Syniverse upgraded their mg-plane and RHEL 8.6 cluster, they faced issues bootstrapping a healthy cluster using the latest kube-role version from the UI due to a bug. This challenge disrupted their operations, as the previous kube-role version they relied on also couldn’t be utilized via the UI. FLVS – Florida Virtual School
